DIMAPUR — In memory of late Mhachan, a football player who tragically passed away in a train accident on November 25, 2024, the Assam Rifles extended support to his parents in organising an inter-village football tournament at Doyapur Football Ground from December 13 to the 18th.
According to an update, the six-day tournament saw participation from 26 teams representing various villages of Dimapur and Chümoukedima.
The final match, played on Wednesday, saw team Sangtamtila triumph over Thilixu with a 2-0 victory.
Assam Rifles provided administrative and other support to the bereaved parents of late Mhachan, it said.
