Imphal, January 08, 2024: Security forces conducted search and area domination operations in the fringe and vulnerable regions of the hill and valley districts, leading to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition.
During the operation near the riverbank of Hangoilok in Irong Tangkhul village, under Nongpok Sekmai Police Station, the following items were seized 1 (one) 9 mm pistol with magazine, 1 (one) Pompi Gun/Improvised Mortar, 2 (two) 36 HE Hand Grenades, 1 (one) detonator, 2 (two) Tear Gas Shells (soft nose), 1 (one) Anti-Riot Dye Marker Grenade, 13 (thirteen) live rounds of ammunition, 1 (one) binocular, 1 (one) Radio Set (Baofeng) with charger, 1 (one) Radio Set (Motorola Vertex Standard) and 21 (twenty-one) empty cartridge cases
The operation underscores the ongoing efforts of security forces to maintain peace and eliminate threats in the region.
