Nagaland Congress Raises Serious Concerns Over Reimposition of Protected Area Regime in State

Kohima: The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has expressed strong opposition to the reimposed Protected Area Regime (PAR) by the Indian government, citing concerns that it may isolate Nagaland and hinder its development.

Khriedi Theunuo, Working President of the NPCC, voiced the party’s concerns, stating that the reimposed PAR could have far-reaching negative consequences for the state. Theunuo assured the people of Nagaland that the Congress Party will not let this matter go unattended and expressed hope that the government of India will consider their case positively.

The reimposed PAR, which requires foreigners to obtain special permits to visit certain areas, has sparked concerns among various stakeholders in Nagaland, who fear that it may impact the state’s economy, tourism, and connectivity with the rest of the country.
