Akshay Kumar Recalls Mahesh Bhatt ‘Ran Away’ in Fear as They Filmed His ‘Most Challenging Stunt’: Yeh Mar Jaayega

Akshay Kumar recalls Mahesh Bhatt’s reaction to his ‘most challenging stunt’.

Akshay Kumar, who is renowned for his own jaw-dropping exploits in films, recently addressed his “most challenging stunt” in an interview with The Quint. The veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt fled the set out of sheer dread for his safety, as the actor recounted.

Akshay discusses his most difficult feat.

Akshay recounted the most difficult stunt of his career when he was asked to describe it. He described leaping from the seventh floor of one building to the fourth floor of another, with only a narrow road separating them, while filming Angaaray. He stated, “In Angaaray, I was required to perform a stunt that involved jumping from the seventh floor of a building.” In between, there was a one-lane road, and on the other side, there was an additional building. Regrettably, I was obliged to descend from the seventh to the fourth floor. My director fled during that time.

He continued, “Mahesh Bhatt was my director, and he fled before I could even execute the stunt.” He declared, “I am not interested in watching; he is going to die.” I conducted that photograph without the assistance of my director, as he had departed.

In 1998, Mahesh Bhatt directed an action film termed “Angaaray.” Nagarjuna, Akshay Kumar, Pooja Bhatt, and Sonali Bendre were the stars of the film, which was inspired by the American film State of Grace. The film was a box office flop, garnering only ₹3 crore against a budget of ₹5 crore, despite its star-studded cast.

Akshay is currently receiving accolades for his performance in Sky Force. The action drama, directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, is centered on the Sargodha airbase assault, which was India’s first airstrike during the 1965 Indo-Pak War. The film, which also features Sara Ali Khan, Veer Pahariya, and Nimrat Kaur, has generated a total domestic nett collection of ₹68.50 crore in just four days.

Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Housefull 5, which is directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
