Dimapur Night Carnival 2024 wraps up with joy and vibrance

The Dimapur Night Carnival (DNC) 2024, which began on December 12 at the Dimapur District Sports Council (DDSC) Complex, concluded with much fanfare here Monday, at DDSC.

The event was a collaborative effort by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), and the Dimapur district administration, showcasing a vibrant mix of culture, entertainment, and community spirit.
The carnival offered a dynamic experience, featuring a variety of stalls, recreational activities, and performances that catered to all age groups.

While talking to Nagaland post, Deputy Chairperson of DMC, Imlinaro Ezung noted that the 11th edition of the Dimapur Night Carnival primary objectives was focused on boosting community engagement, showcasing local talent, and creating a safe, family-friendly environment. According to her, this year saw an impressive turnout of over 10,000 attendees, comprising a diverse mix of families, young adults, and seniors.

She further highlighted a noticeable increase in families with children compared to previous years, reflecting the event’s growing appeal as an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all.
She underscored that the carnival featured various attractions, with live music performances as the highlight, which significantly boosted community spirit. She noted that local businesses reported increased sales, and attendee feedback was overwhelmingly positive, praising the event for bringing the community together.

She emphasized the appreciation received for the variety of activities and the family-friendly atmosphere. She noted it was fulfilling to see people enjoying together and expressed excitement for next year with hopes of making it even better.
She underscored plans to enhance food offerings and increase seating areas next year, noting attendee feedback on the need for more relaxation spaces. She highlighted the intention to allocate more budget for marketing and additional entertainment to sustain the event’s momentum

Interacting with Nagaland post, A game stall owner expressed his enthusiasm for the event, sharing that he enjoyed interacting with the friendly visitors. He also commended the organizers for their excellent support and indicated his interest in participating again next year.
Adding to the festive spirit, a nearby food stall run by a group of friends became a crowd favourite. The group shared that their venture was not driven by profit but by the desire to enjoy and engage with the community. One of the highlights at their stall was the local rice beer, which attracted significant attention from attendees.

Visitors described the night carnival as an ideal destination for holiday celebrations with loved ones. Families appreciated the variety of attractions, which included games and recreational activities for children, along with delicious food and live music for adults. Many attendees emphasized the warm and lively atmosphere, making the event a memorable experience for all.
One visitor shared her excitement about attending the carnival with friends, highlighting her enjoyment of the games and the energetic musical performances.
